DoDxAct Capabilities

Our practical offerings are based around our well-equipped laboratory

Waveform Optimisation

State-of-the-art Drop Watching Equipment

We have invested our time, energy and money in making sure that we can undertake a wide range of head experiments as flexibly as possible with both Meteor and Jetxpert technology at our disposal with Meteor & GIS driving electronics, where appropriate.

Wide Head Coverage

We work with the approval of leading print head manufacturers to follow best-practice guidelines & ensure our work produces results. Our Meteor-based rig has even multiple heads installed simultaneously (see below).

Unrivalled Independent Know-How

We have jetted solvent, UV, aqueous and hybrid (e.g. Aq-UV) inks for labelling, printed electronics, security , 3D binder jet, graphics, , packaging, print-to-shape and some custom manufacturing applications we weren’t even allowed to know about. The video shows firing at 10kHz with different droplet sizes.

Print Prototyping of Materials

Project Flexibility

We are expert in setting up the equipment to explore the combination of factors that are important, innovating modification and methods where needed. In this example we add UV lamp to the Jetxpert for two-colour printing of aluminium samples with UV-cured inks.

Hardware Factors

Influences of variables like print resolution, requirement for ink recirculation can be explored and interpreted to inform print head selection for final printer design. On this non-woven substrate 300dpi and 600dpi are similar.

Ink/Process Variables

Process factors like print speed, substrate temperature, print-to-cure or print-to-dry time can all be tested to enable data driven decision making in application development.

Customised Training

Our lab reports are usually a training event in themselves but we also offer customised programs for delivery at your site or ours and provide courses through third parties

Waveform Training

We deliver waveform optimisation training in our lab or at the client site, using the heads, drivers & ink supply specific to the project, introducing lab methods where needed.

Inks & Applications

As well as delivering a regular course through IMI, we help our own clients with a tailored understanding of ink technology landscape as adapted to different applications.

Know-How meets Innovation

Our tremendous application experience and completely independent viewpoint gives us a unique advantage for those seeking advice & training on the technicalities of industrial inkjet. This video shows greyscale drop behaviour captured from 5-32kHz on a Ricoh head.
